The woolyvines stone whorl spindles are made from natural stones including Aventurine, Burmese Jade, Dalmatian Jasper, Fluorite, Granite, Lapis Lazuli, Leopard-skin Jasper, Jadeite, Quartz, Red Jasper, Rose Quartz, Serpentine, Sodalite, Picture Jasper, Unakite, White Jade as well as a variety of Agates.
The single stone whorl spindles weigh ~1 oz (28-32 gr) and the whorl is ~2.5 inches (45mm). The oak shafts measure 10 inches (10.5 including the cup hook). The double stone whorl spindles weigh ~1.5 oz (41 gr) and the whorl is ~2.5 inches (45mm). The oak shafts measure 10 inches (10.5 including the cup hook).
These unique spindles are assembled without the use of any glues or adhesives. Their modular design allows the parts to be reconfigured from a top whorl spindle into bottom whorl or support spindle. Additional whorls can be added, removed and interchanged to adjust the weight and balance of the spindle to satisfy a variety of spinning needs.
