Description   We are happy to have this gorgeous new knit kit designed by Ilga Leja, now available in Hand Maiden Sea Silk. As rivers make their way to the ocean, swirling, flowing, they create currents and eddies and eventually merge with the sea in tidal streams. This stole, worked on the bias in a Lace Garter Stitch Pattern, reflects the constant movement of tidal waters. The gently ruffled ends, streaming outwards, represent the melding of river and ocean. The stole is lovely in handpainted fingering weight yarn. Our complete knit kit includes Ilga's beautifully written pattern and 2 skeins of your choice of color of HandMaiden's gorgeous, silky Sea Silk yarn which is 70% silk and 30% "seacell." Color shown in pattern photo is Summer Tide and was specially dyed for us by our friends at HandMaiden. The kit is also available in Hand Maiden Casbah.   Features Size: 162 cm./64 in. long and 33 cm./13 in. wide Level: Easy Kit includes: Pattern; 2 skeins of HandMaiden Sea Silk yarn Suggested Needles: 4.5 mm. (US 7) Gauge: 20 sts and 20 rows = 10 cm./4 in. square when knit in the Pattern Stitch This kit would be lovely in any soft and luxurious handpainted fingering weight yarn. Ilga also suggests the use of Fleece Artist Italian Silk or Fleece Artists Somoko. We also have a Casbah version available.
