CD spindles have been around for a while, but never quite like the folks at Cottage Fiber are making them. As you look down on the whorl, you get to enjoy a kaleidoscope of movement since each of the CDs are printed with terrific designs. These are not printed labels, but actually a water-resistant part of the CD itself. The underside of the whorl is shiny black and shows off your newly spun yarn when you set the spindle down, and the colored accent wire spiraling up the shaft adds the finishing touch.
We are very excited to be carrying techno spindles at One Planet Yarn and Fiber. We have a selection of their spindle designs both with silver and white surfaces. Your preference is a personal one. Silver surfaces dull the color saturation a bit, but reflect the light as they spin. The design seems to have a 3D effect. White surfaces have greater color intensity, and offer better image details. They have a 2D appearance, and will not catch the light as they spin.
Each technospindle also includes colored wire as part of the design. It wasn't easy to decide on which colors to offer, so our color choices may change as time goes along.
