The scalloped hems and meandering path of the openwork are the result of the horizontal expansion and contraction of the stitch pattern. This is a great on-the-go project, with lace knitting on right-side rows only and “rest” rows entirely in purl. Use of a different weight yarn and/or needles will produce a variation in overall size.
