Description

A Faroese shawl in one size with allover floral and fern patterns finishing with a banded insect motif just above the hem. Shawl is worked top-down, with shaping at the shoulders and an applied (knitted on) lace edging at the hem border. Substituting yarn and/or needles may result in an overall variation in shawl size

Finished Size: Length at center back (blocked) = 29 inches; Width across top edge (blocked) = 80 inches; Total circumference at hem (blocked) = 140 inches
Yarn Requirements: 1300 yards (1180 mts) of laceweight yarn that has 175-210 yards per ounce - Click here for a complete listing of all of our lace yarn perfect for this pattern
Needles: size 6US (4.0 mm) 24” and 32” circular needles, or size to obtain correct gauge; size 4US (3.5 mm) 32” circular needle for edging (or two sizes smaller than body needle)
Gauge: 24 sts and 32 rows = 4” in stockinette stitch (unblocked)
