Mary's background is in fine art.  She learned to knit and crochet from her mother when she was 7 years old.  She has  taught and worked on staff at two yarn stores in the Valley of the Sun for the last seven years as well as for the City of Chandler.  Mary recently became an empty nester and wanted to get back to designing, weaving and spinning, which she has not had time to do for the past few years.  Mary's passion is for teaching knitting and helping people with knitting problems.  Mary is currently working on The Knitting Guild of America's Master Knitter Program.  She helps with One Planet Yarn and Fiber and continues teaching in the valley at The Fiber Factory in Mesa, as well as offers private and group lessons on request.
