Cohansie is a modern cardigan with clean lines and a simple construction. The hand dyed Fleece Artist Woolie Silk 3 ply works up beautifully in a mock drop stitch pattern and will complement any Spring or Fall wardrobe. Cohansie's body and sleeves are knit separately in one piece then joined seamlessly at the yoke for a 99.9% seamless knit.
A note from Melissa Wehrle, the designer, regarding her inspiration: "My Beloved Cohansie" is a collection of journal entries by Philip Vickers Fithian*, a patriot and minister living in Greenwich, New Jersey in the late 1700's. His journal details everyday life in the village and on the Cohansie river, where my husband and I reside when we're away from the crazy life of New York City. Not much has changed in the sleepy little village since, well, except for the pirates, and the beauty of the Cohansie is much as it was back then. The stitch of the Cohansie cardigan reminds me of the patterns in the water as it rolls along its winding banks and the Fleece Artist Woolie Silk captures the mood perfectly in the Salt Spray colorway."
