Ferrous Sulfate- Ferrous sulfate (iron) is used as a color changer, darkening or “saddening” natural dyes on protein or cellulose fibers and also increases lightfastness for dyes that are prone to fading.	Soda Ash-Soda Ash is a mild base that increases the pH of an indigo vat or adds alkalinity to a dyebath to modify its shade.	Sodium Hydrosulfite-is an effective reducing agent and works in the indigo vat to remove excess oxygen and prepare it for dipping.

Potassium aluminum sulfate- Alum is the primary nontoxic mordant used to fix natural dye extracts to fiber.	Cream of Tartar-Cream of Tartar, also known as potassium bitartrate, is a granular or powder resembling table sugar that is produced in fermenting grape juice	pH Indicator Strips These strips are used to measure the pH of an indigo vat to determine if more alkali or acid is needed to balance the vat.

Madder -Madder (Rubia tinctoria) is one of the oldest and most frequently used traditional dyestuffs known to man.
