Description   Each ball of African Bead Yarn is a luxurious gem.  The yarns are handspun and dyed by hand and the African beads are strung onto the yarn by hand.  This yarn is very soft baby boucle mohair hand spun with a fine metallic thread.  Then tiny African beads are attached onto the yarn. If you knit this on its own as in the pattern Roberta's Hat and Arm Warmers or combine it with another yarn, you will truly have a very unique work of art. Each ball of yarn is 50 grams, with 65 yards of yarn.  The gauge is 3 stitches to the inch on US 11 needles. The yarn was hand dyed by women in South Africa under a jobs creation program that has offered opportunity in economically depressed rural region with a 75% unemployment rate.
